Last weekend, Salford’s premier cheerleading program, Electric Athletics, embarked on an exciting journey to Disneyland Paris to compete in the renowned Future Cheer: Bring it On cheerleading competition.
The event, held at the stunning Disney Newport Bay Convention Centre, brought together cheerleading teams from across Europe for a weekend of athleticism, teamwork, and celebration. Electric Athletics fielded three teams, each performing on Saturday, November 30th, in their respective divisions.
The adventure began on Friday, November 29th, when athletes and coaches gathered at Manchester Airport, buzzing with anticipation. After a smooth flight, the team arrived in Paris and settled into their accommodations, ready to give their all on competition day. Months of rigorous training, spanning over six months, had prepared the athletes for this pivotal moment.
On Saturday, the spotlight was on Electric Athletics as the teams showcased their carefully crafted routines. The energy, precision, and dedication of the athletes impressed both judges and spectators. After a long day of competition, the teams eagerly awaited their results.
Sunday provided the perfect opportunity for the athletes to unwind and soak in the magic of Disneyland. The team spent the day exploring the park, enjoying iconic rides, and meeting beloved Disney characters. The highlight of the day was the enchanting firework display, a fitting conclusion to a weekend of hard work and joy.
