EA Kilovolt proudly represented Electric Athletics on the international stage last month as they travelled to Lisbon, Portugal, to compete at the first-ever European Summit Championships.
The European Summit is one of the most prestigious events in the European cheerleading calendar, bringing together qualifying teams from across the continent to compete against the very best in their divisions. The inaugural championship welcomed elite programmes from multiple countries, creating an incredible atmosphere and giving athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent on one of Europe's biggest stages.
Competing in the International IOC Level 3 division, EA Kilovolt faced an exceptionally competitive field of 17 teams. Over two days of competition, the team delivered exactly what they had trained so hard to achieve.
Taking to the floor on both Day 1 and Day 2, Kilovolt performed with confidence, precision and determination, earning the ultimate reward in competitive cheerleading, two zero deduction routines. Hitting clean performances on both days is a significant achievement at any competition, but to do so at a championship of this calibre is a true testament to the athletes' commitment, resilience and teamwork.
Their outstanding performances secured an impressive 6th place finish, placing them among the top International IOC Level 3 teams in Europe.
Behind every performance lies months of dedication, countless training sessions and unwavering commitment from both the athletes and coaching staff. The experience of competing alongside some of Europe's strongest programmes has provided invaluable opportunities for growth and will undoubtedly inspire the team as they look towards the future.
Programme Director and Coach Becky said:
"I couldn't be prouder of this team. To compete at the very first European Summit Championships was an incredible opportunity in itself, but to step onto that floor twice and hit two zero routines is something the athletes should be immensely proud of. They trusted the process, supported one another every step of the way and showed exactly what Electric Athletics is all about. Finishing 6th in such a strong division is a fantastic achievement, and this experience will only motivate us to keep pushing forward. Watching this team grow throughout the season and then perform with such confidence on the European stage has been incredibly rewarding."
Everyone at Electric Athletics is immensely proud of EA Kilovolt and everything they achieved in Lisbon. Representing the club at an international championship, delivering two exceptional performances and finishing among the top six teams in Europe marks a milestone in the programme's journey.
Congratulations to every athlete, coach and supporter who helped make this achievement possible. The future is certainly looking bright for EA Kilovolt.
