Electric Athletics athletes delivered an outstanding weekend of performances at the inaugural First Charge competition, hosted by Power Up Events at the University of Warwick.
Organised by Power Up Events, the event marked an exciting addition to the UK cheerleading calendar. Founded by experienced former cheerleaders, Power Up Events aims to elevate competition experiences through athlete-focused, high-energy events that celebrate the dedication and passion within the sport.
Taking place across 21st–22nd March 2026, First Charge brought together teams from across the country to perform on a professional competition floor, showcasing months of hard work, commitment and team spirit.
Electric Athletics teams rose to the occasion, achieving an incredible set of results across multiple divisions:
A standout moment of the weekend saw Energy deliver a flawless routine, hitting zero deductions, a testament to the team’s precision, preparation and performance quality.
Head Coach Becky Whittle praised the athletes’ efforts and commitment:
“I’m incredibly proud of every athlete who took to the floor this weekend. First Charge was a fantastic event, and to see so many of our teams perform with confidence and consistency was amazing. Achieving multiple first-place finishes and a zero-deduction routine is a huge accomplishment, and it reflects the hard work these athletes put in week in, week out. This is just the beginning of what we know will be an exciting season ahead.”
The success at First Charge sets a powerful tone for the remainder of the season, with Electric Athletics continuing to build momentum across all levels of the programme. With more competitions on the horizon, the programme looks forward to carrying this energy forward as teams continue to push for excellence on the national stage.
