Electric Athletics Celebrate a Sparkling Season at Annual Awards Night

This past weekend, athletes, coaches, families, and friends gathered at The Hayloft in Warrington for Electric Athletics’ annual End of Season Awards Night – an evening dedicated to recognising the hard work, progress, and spirit of everyone involved in the programme.

The atmosphere was electric as awards were presented to standout individuals across various cheerleading categories. These included:  

• The Most Improved Athlete from each cheerleading team, 
• Best Newcomer, 
• Most Improved Flyer, 
• Most Improved Stunter, 
• Most Improved Tumbler, 
• Best Jumper, Best Dancer, 
• Most Improved Performer, 
• Team Motivator, 
• Positive Energy Award, 
• Cheerleader of the Year.

In addition to performance awards, the event also honoured athletes who have dedicated ten years to the programme – a true testament to their commitment and passion. Special recognition was also given to the incredible Team Parents, whose ongoing support plays a vital role in the success and wellbeing of the athletes and their families.

Coaches and junior coaches were celebrated for their tireless dedication and mentorship, guiding athletes throughout the season and inspiring excellence both on and off the mat.

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the beloved tradition of the Paper Plate Awards. Every member of the Electric Athletics World Team – EA Midnight – received a personalised and often humorous plate, adding a heartfelt and fun touch to the night’s celebrations. The evening was filled with dancing, laughter, and joyful moments that reflected the strong sense of community at the heart of Electric Athletics. 

“This event is more than just a celebration of athletic achievement – it’s a celebration of our Electric family,” said Becky Whittle, Head Coach & Program Director. “We’re so proud of every single athlete, coach, and supporter who contributes to the energy and spirit of this programme. Nights like these remind us why we do what we do – it’s all about connection, growth, and community.” 

The Awards Night was a true reflection of everything Electric Athletics stands for – dedication, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun. As the season comes to a close, the memories made and milestones achieved will continue to inspire the entire Electric family into the year ahead.
