Electric Athletics 2024 Christmas Showcase

Electric Athletics kicked off the festive season in style with their annual Christmas Showcase in Salford. The event brought together athletes from all cheerleading divisions to perform their routines for a packed audience of parents, friends, family, and other enthusiastic spectators. 

Held at Electric Avenue, the showcase was a complete sell-out, marking the athletes’ first opportunity of the season to perform ahead of their inaugural competition.  

A Festive Day of Cheerleading

Rehearsals began early, with cheerleaders arriving at 9:45 AM to perfect their routines before doors opened at 2:00 PM. Throughout the event, spectators enjoyed refreshments, snacks, and the chance to purchase Electric Athletics apparel. 

A highlight of the day was a series of fundraising activities organized by EA Midnight, the program’s Worlds team, to help cover costs for their upcoming trip to compete in America next year. 

Words of Pride from Head Coach Becky Whittle

“For some athletes, this was their first time ever performing on a full-sized sprung floor in front of an audience, and I couldn’t be prouder,” said Becky Whittle, Head Coach and Program Director. “The Christmas showcase is such an important event because it gives supporters their first glimpse of what their child has been working toward since August. It was amazing to see so many people in the gym cheering on all our teams.”  

Showcase Highlights

The event featured memorable moments, including: 

• A completely sold-out audience.
• Several Electric Athletics cheerleading teams achieving “hit zero” (no deductions), with some doing so for the first time.
• Special performances by SS Dance and Fitness.
• An entertaining routine from St Catherine's RC Primary School.

 
What’s Next?

With the Christmas Showcase behind them, Electric Athletics teams are now gearing up for their first competitions of the season, set to take place next week in Blackpool.
