CHEERSPORT National Showcase 2024

On Sunday, parents, athletes and supporters descended on Electric Athletics Salford Cheerleading Gym - Electric Avenue, to show their support to the program’s athletes competing at the CHEERSPORT National Championships in Atlanta this month – EA Strike.

Electric Athletics Strike are based out of our Salford training location where they train once a week from 9am to 11am on a Saturday, with an additional training session once a month from our Warrington location.

Their current division is International Under 16s, Level 2 and are the only Electric Athletics cheerleading team that will compete at CHEERSPORT Nationals which takes place in Atlanta, America, in February 2024.

CHEERSPORT National All Star Cheerleading Championship is a Worlds Bid event where the stakes are high! Teams from all over the world converge to compete against the best of the best. Production is top notch; venues are spacious, and Atlanta is taken over by cheerleaders. This event features participant gifts, team awards and bids to all of Varsity All Star End-of-Season Championships.

Spectators not only got to watch EA Strikes full routine, but they were also joined by two other teams from Widnes Cheerleading program - Academy Cheer, who will also be competing at CHEERSPORT Nationals:

• Academy Cheer - Princess of Thieves – Junior Level 2
• Academy Cheer - Queen of Hearts – Senior Level 2

At the end of the showcase, EA Strike were presented with their Atlanta cheer stash, consisting of new team apparel, training kit and other goodies.

Head Coach and Program Director Becky Whittle said “The CHEERSPORT National showcase is so important as it gives the athletes supporters a chance to look at what their child has been working towards since August, ready for the international competition this month. It was great having the two teams from Academy Cheer in our gym and perform alongside us, and the support from everyone in the gym was amazing. As Program Director I couldn’t be prouder of every single member of Electric Athletic.

Established in 2023, Electric Athletics cheerleading aims to provide a positive, safe space, in a fun filled environment for athletes of all ages and abilities from the age of 3 up to adults, across the Northwest.

At Electric Athletics, we welcome everyone from complete beginners to experienced cheerleaders, dancers, and gymnasts, and with cheerleading teams across the Northwest, both in Salford and Warrington, we offer not only Allstar Cheerleading but Recreational Cheerleading as well as Prep Cheerleading as well.
