At the weekend cheerleading teams from Electric Athletics competed at BCA Cheer and Dance Winter Weekender cheerleading competition at Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

There were some great high throughout the competition with six of the Electric Athletics teams competition getting first place in their divisions, two of which hit zero.

Head Coach and Program Director Becky Whittle said, “What an amazing day we had at this competition, and I am so proud of every single athlete and coach. What a great team we make. For some athletes this was their first ever time competing, and I can’t wait to see how everyone’s confidence, skills and abilities grow throughout the season.”

2023 BCA Winter Weekender Results

The first team to compete was EA Protons (our Junior Stunt Group) who hit the competition floor at 9.23am and the last team to compete was EA Static (our International Non-Tumbling Level 4/5 Group) who hit the competition floor at 8.09pm.

Each cheerleading teams competition routine ranged between 1 minute and 15 seconds and 2 minutes and 30 seconds long and consisted of level appropriate tumbling, dance, stunts and a pyramid – all of which the athletes were judged on and scored.
