Warrington Cheerleading Team Electric Athletics look to Recruit New Athletes

The cheerleading club, have two training facilities across the Northwest, the Warrington cheerleading teams are currently training out of the Wire Gymnastics Club, Birchwood and their other athletes train in Salford and they are currently looking for new members across both locations.

Established in 2023, Electric Athletics cheerleading aims to provide a positive, safe space, in a fun filled environment for athletes of all ages and abilities from the age of 3 up to adults, across the Northwest.

The Salford athletes are also looking for a permanent facility in Salford to call home. They are currently looking for a premises that is a minimum of 17mx13m clear space, with a ceiling height of at least 5m high, so that they can leave the equipment out and even more skills specific classes can be added to their timetable.

Head Coach and Program Director Becky Whittle said “At Electric Athletics, we welcome everyone from complete beginners to experienced cheerleaders, dancers, and gymnasts. It is an amazing way to make close friendships across all teams and years, keep fit, improve skills and confidence, and most importantly have fun!

Recently two of their Salford cheerleading teams, Midnight and Twilight, achieved one partial paid, and one at large bid to compete at the IASF Cheerleading World Championships, in April 2024, over in America.

Becky continues “Electric Athletics currently has approximately 35 worlds athletes this year and around 150 other athletes across both training locations, forming a mixture of recreational cheerleading teams to Allstar competitive cheerleading teams to international cheerleading teams.”

Last month athletes from both the Warrington cheerleading teams and Salford cheerleading teams came together to take part at Penketh Carnival. Despite the weather these cheerleaders walked in the parade providing spectators with a fabulous display of stunts and tumbles across the route.
